Learn to Cope – Best of ME

Winsome Wishes for KIDS (WWKIDS) collaborated with Lead Outreach Initiative and Radar Relief groups and presented “The Best of ME: Village Fair – a student-centered mental health  workshops which took place at the Karl Hendrickson auditorium, Jamaica College on Friday, March 17 for students, and on Saturday, March 18 for parents, guardians, and educators. The workshops hosted by Glen Campbell, O.D, saw over 400 persons in attendance over the two days from primary, preparatory, high schools and Mustard Seed children homes.

The workshop featured Dr. Karine Clay of Higher Potential for Learning, Dr. Patrece Charles-King of Phoenix Counseling Center, and Dr. Taylor-Williams of NYC.

Dr. Clay guided and interacted  with the audience, she had them on their feet in discovering their learning styles to understand how best they learn. Dr. Charles-King explored and engaged the audience with critical thinking skills and triggers to improve problem-solving. And finally, Dr. Taylor Williams via zoom, educated on the critical role that Social Emotional Learning plays in promoting students. Special thanks to Jemar Printery, TVJamaica, and Ms. Marcia Brown for your added input to the success of the student centered mental health workshop.

Thanks to all our sponsors who helped with the success of the initiative, and thanks to all personnel who assisted.
